6cm thick chunk of ginger, sliced
4 stalks celery
2 tomatoes
2 carrots
2 potatoes
1 white onion
chicken stock, if available

Peel the ginger and slice into thin sticks. Chop everything into bite sized pieces. Simply boil all of the ingredients together, starting with ginger, celery, onion, and carrot going in first. The soup can be boiled for a very long time, and the potatoes and tomatoes can be added 20 minutes before serving.
